About the event

Is tackling Striding edge to reach the summit of Helvellyn on your bucket list? If so, why not join us on a fully guided walk, led by a qualified mountain leader (also a first-aider and Registered Nurse).

Starting from Glenridding, we will make our way towards the slopes of Birkhouse Moor before taking an ascent path which will get the calves and heart pumping! After a few snaps and a breather, we will then make our way towards the ‘hole in the wall’ (not a cash point!), the start of the path which takes us over Striding Edge and after 60 minutes of scrambling, on to the summit of Helvellyn.

This route is not for the faint-hearted or those not used to steep group with big drops! On our descent from Helvellyn via Swirral edge, we will make a small detour to the summit of Catstye Cam if this is something the group want to do.The event is intended for those who have experience in the hills with sufficient fitness to walk for 6-7 hours at a pace of 2-3km per hour. We will journey at a comfortable pace with plenty of photo opportunities and re-fuelling stops.

How to pay:

SUP & Summit ask that you pay for your activity or voucher by bank transfer as this method does not incur any charges. Companies such as PayPal take up to 3% of every transaction made and therefore, absorbing these fees means that we have to charge more for our activities or have bigger groups - something we obviously want to avoid.
