Spectacular Helvellyn Sunrise Guided Walk

Join SUP & Summit on a memorable guided walk to the summit of Helvellyn, which stands at 950m and is the third highest mountain in England. The route to the summit of Helvellyn is often associated with the exposed Striding and Swirral edges - you may be glad to learn that these will be avoided on this sunrise route, instead taking the route from Thirlmere.

You will be joined by like-minded individuals who want to challenge themselves in taking on the acclaimed Helvellyn, whilst having a novel experience under a starlit sky (fingers crossed!) and some fun!  You will be a member of a small group (maximum of 6), guided by a qualified mountain leader (first-aider and registered nurse) who will do the thinking and planning for you.

We will meet at Wythburn car park (£8 pay and display) at 4am and after a short safety briefing and introductions, we will switch on our head torches and head towards the summit at a pace that suits the group, in time for sunrise at 6.25am. Once we have watched sunrise, taken photos etc., we will make the most of our height by visiting neighbouring summits of Nethermost Pike and Dollywagon Pike. These summits are 45-60 minutes walk away offering different views, enabling those ticking off Wainwrights to knock another two off their to-do list. From Dollywagon, we will begin our descent back to the car park.

How to pay:

SUP & Summit ask that you pay for your activity or voucher by bank transfer as this method does not incur any charges. Companies such as PayPal take up to 3% of every transaction made and therefore, absorbing these fees means that we have to charge more for our activities or have bigger groups - something we obviously want to avoid.
