About the event
About the event
Join us on this guided walk to the summit of the majestic Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa) via the Snowdon Ranger path - one of the quieter routes to the summit of Snowdon. You will encounter gently undulating terrain initially as we navigate the foothills to the start of the Snowdon Ranger path, giving you the opportunity to be well-warmed up before we start our ascent.
The terrain is undulating, and of course, challenging in sections as we gain height - giving your heart, lungs and calves a good workout! This is a stunning route, the hard work rewarded with fantastic views. The need to stop and take a photo is a great excuse to get your breath back! As a group, we will take our time, support / encourage each other, enjoy the views and re-fuel along the way.
Once we have spent time at the summit, we will head back to Llanberis via the more direct Llanberis path, thrilled with our achievements.
About the pace and terrain
We will walk at a pace that suits the group - usually 3-4km per hour. The main worry that clients have before coming on a taster event is that they will hold the group up - this is never the case - and you will be encouraged and supported along the way. If you are someone who wants to race around the route, then these events aren't for you!
Uneven ground, thick mud, big puddles and scree are likely to be underfoot in places on the ascent and descent, requiring extra care. Therefore, sturdy footwear, such as worn-in walking boots which cover the ankle, are essential.
