What kit will I need?
HILLWALKING ACTIVITIES
Kit requirements depend on your chosen event and of course, the weather on the day! Have a look at the blog that can be found at https://www.supandsummit.com/post/what-do-i-need-to-pack-in-my-rucksack-for-a-hill-walk for more info.
The minimum kit requirements are:
-
Anti-bacterial hand gel - for use after touching all gates etc.
-
Face covering
-
Personal first-aid kit (e.g. blister care, insect bite relief)
-
Walking shoes / walking boots (no trainers)
-
Waterproof clothing - jacket and trousers
-
Suitable clothing for walking (no jeans). It is recommended that you try and keep as much skin covered as possible (i.e. avoid shorts) to the risk of tick bites (though this is entirely your choice)
-
Spare layers as you will get cold quickly when we stop for lunch
-
Sufficient food and snacks for duration of event
-
At least 1.5 litres of water
-
Walking poles - optional but make a huge difference
-
Hat / gloves
-
Waterproof case for phone / valuables
-
Sunscreen
-
Sense of humour, adventure and enthusiasm, to cope with whatever the weather has in store for us!
-
